PromptRecon is a prompt analysis tool that helps users audit, score, improve, and stress-test AI prompts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
Account Information
If accounts are enabled, we may collect your name, email address, plan type, and basic profile information.
Prompt Content
When you submit a prompt for analysis, we process the text you provide in order to generate a prompt score, weakness report, improved prompt, failure modes, test cases, and recommended format.
Usage Information
We may collect usage data such as the number of prompt recons performed, timestamps, feature usage, device type, browser type, approximate location, and technical logs.
Payment Information
If paid plans are enabled, payments may be handled by a third-party payment provider. PromptRecon does not store full payment card details.
Support Communications
If you contact us, we may collect your email address and the content of your message.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate PromptRecon
- Analyze and improve prompts submitted by users
- Generate recon reports and improved prompts
- Manage usage limits and subscriptions
- Improve product performance and reliability
- Respond to support requests
- Prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Prompt Data and Sensitive Information
PromptRecon is not intended for processing highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or personal information.
Do not submit:
- Passwords or API keys
- Customer secrets
- Financial account numbers
- Health records
- Legal case files
- Government identification numbers
- Confidential business documents
- Personal data you are not authorized to process
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to submit any content they provide.
4. AI Processing
PromptRecon may use third-party AI model providers to analyze submitted prompts and generate reports. Prompt content may be sent to those providers solely to provide the requested analysis.
We do not sell prompt content.
5. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and improve security.
If saved prompt history is enabled, prompt reports may be stored until the user deletes them or closes their account.
If no account or saved history is used, prompt content may only be processed temporarily to generate the requested output, subject to technical logs and provider processing.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable, we process personal data based on:
- Contract: to provide the service requested by the user
- Legitimate interests: to secure, improve, and operate the product
- Consent: where consent is required, such as certain optional communications
- Legal obligation: where required by applicable law
7. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- AI model providers used to generate recon reports
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- Payment processors
- Analytics and error monitoring providers
- Legal or regulatory authorities where required by law
We do not sell personal data.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no online service is completely secure, and users should avoid submitting sensitive or confidential data.
9. Your Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Restrict or object to processing
